Recognizing the Risk Factors for Stroke

Stroke is one of the leading causes of death in the United States, but you can reduce your risk by understanding and mitigating your risk factors. Find out what increases the odds of having a stroke by watching this video.

There are two types of stroke risk factors: uncontrollable and controllable. You can’t do anything to change uncontrollable risk factors like age, but there are many things you can do to reduce controllable factors such as obesity, smoking, and poor diet. If you’re worried about stroke, talk to your doctor about steps you can take to cut your risk.
